우리는 세계를 본다고 말하지만, 어쩌면 먼저 닿고 있는지도 모른다. 무엇인가가 스치고 지나간 뒤에야 비로소 알아차리는 순간들이 있다. 그때의 몸은 이해하기보다 반응하고, 세계는 설명하기보다 흔적을 남긴다. 그 흔적은 완전히 사라지지 않은 채, 피부 어딘가에 머문다.
이 전시는 그러한 상태를 다룬다. 세 작가는 각기 다른 방식으로 몸을 주제로 다루지만, 공통적으로 외부와 맞닿는 지점에 주목한다. 진동과 추모의 감각, 혹은 구조적 불안이 몸을 스칠 때, 가장 먼저 남는 촉각적인 흔적들과 우리의 몸을 끊임없이 변화시키는 이 감각들 그리고 뾰족이 일어선 이 피부는 세계와 몸의 불일치, ‘그럼에도 불구하고’ 일어나 마주하는 것은 어떤 미지의 의지일까?
People often say that we “see” the world, but perhaps we first “touch” it. There are moments we only come to notice after something has already brushed past us. In such moments, the body reacts rather than understands, and the world leaves traces rather than explaining itself. These traces never fully disappear, but linger somewhere on the skin.
This exhibition explores such states: the ones at which the body comes into contact with what lies outside it. The sense of oscillation, remembrance, and structural instability that constantly presses against and transforms our bodies. Within this dissonance between the world and the body, how can we name this unknown will that nevertheless makes us rise and face the world?
