Bisqueware, instructional text (“feel free to touch, but with care”), 2024



Cared-Labored Bodies (2024) consists of five bisqueware sculptures. Each piece symbolizes a different part of the body on which massage services were performed. The flesh-toned color and rough texture represent the skin of clients and the varied bodily interactions through laboring touch. The audience is invited to touch and feel the surfaces, connecting their own bodies to the processes of care and labor.

<보살펴지는-노동받는 몸들>은 다섯 점의 점토 조각으로 구성된 작업이다. 각각의 조각은 서비스 노동이 수행되는 신체의 각기 다른 부위를 상징한다. 점토는 창백한 살결을 닮은 색감으로 구워졌으며, 거친 질감은 신체 간의 물리적 접촉을 그대로 담아내었다. 관객은 조각의 표면을 직접 만지고 느낄 수 있으며, 이를 통해 돌봄과 노동의 과정에 촉각적으로 연결된다.
