Sponsored by Samchully Group and based in South Korea, this scholarship award is designed to find and support prospective Korean artists of talent in the field of visual arts. The total amount of the scholarship that is given to winners is approximately $82,000. This year, thirty students were selected as finalists through portfolio and statement reviews, exhibition presentations, and two interviews with international juries, including Whitney Museum curator Kelly Long and former MoMA curator Laura Braverman. Work by Chunman Art Award winners will be presented in the award exhibition in Seoul, South Korea in May 2023.
CHUNMAN ART for YOUNG은 인문, 철학, 예술의 교차점에서 시각예술 분야 미래 인재들의 꿈을 지원합니다. 천만장학회가 새롭게 추진하는 CHUNMAN ART for YOUNG은 인문학적 소양과 철학적 개념 그리고 예술적 창의성을 고루 갖춘 차세대 예술가 30명을 선발하였으며, 본 전시는 그들의 잠재력과 가능성을 직접 볼 수 있는 기회의 장으로서 개최되었습니다.
